Kim Cawthorne has spent over well over 20 years in the finance industry. One of the very first female broker’s making a name for herself as a leading mortgage broker across Australia. With a wealth of experience and multiple accreditations, Kim has been running her own business, Mortgages for Women & Prestige Mortgages since 2001,now rebranded with Astute finance successfully helping countless individuals and families achieve their dreams of home ownership. Kim is now proudly a Mortgage Finance Association Australia (MFAA) Mentor, supporting the development and success of not only individual women entering their career as a Mortgage Broker, but also of the industry as a whole.
Remaining true to this commitment, Kim launched Mortgages for Women, following her observation of a need in the industry, to deliver services with a specific focus, and empathy, for females from all walks of life, engaged in varying environments and circumstances.
Running workshops for educating women in financial literacy in local the communities’. Collaborating with female family lawyers, accountants, and financial planners . Now mentoring the next generation of females entering the industry, Kim’s optimistic, persistent, and caring nature has been critical to both her success, strong ecosystem of professionals, and importantly, her strong reputation as a leader across the sector.
When not crunching the numbers (or … amongst her busy schedule), Kim is a passionate adventure – lover who enjoys swimming, boxing, hiking the Kokoda or planning to hike Mt Kilimanjaro and loves being with family and friends. Her two children have followed Kim’s footsteps, both now successful, independent mortgage brokers operating across Sydney’s suburbs.
With a firm belief in giving back to community Kim has been a volunteer with the Look Good Feel Better foundation for over 20 years, a workshop for women going through Chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Kim is in the early stages of starting a charity with her goddaughter who works in outback communities in the health industry to provide joggers for all children in community called Best foot forward. She has also done volunteer work with the Fred Hollows foundation.
Kim’s passion purpose is to attract more women into the wonderful broking industry which currently only 27% in the industry are women. Kim is also a justice of the peace.
